Essequibo trio charged with wounding friend during drinking spree

A 21-year-old labourer of Lot 121 Richmond Housing Scheme is now unable to work after he suffered severe injuries about his body inflicted by a group of men during a drinking spree at Henrietta, Region Two.

 Haymant Deodat was attacked on September 18 at around 17.45 hours by his friends at a popular shop at Henrietta, Region Two. It was reported that he was drinking with a group of friends when an old issue came up.  This prompted two of the men from the group to break the beer bottles they were drinking from and begin stabbing the man about his body.   

As a result, Deodat sustained severe injuries to the upper part of the body, arm, and head. He was immediately rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He spent four days in the Suddie Public Hospital.
