Suspect in $50m RDC robbery charged with larceny in other case

Lawernce Vanlewin, who was arrested after a shootout on September 13 following the $50m heist at the Regional Democratic Council of Region Six, was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with simple larceny in another matter.

Vanlewin, also known as ‘Larry’,  appeared at the New Amsterdam Magis-trate’s Court before Magis-trate Renita Singh where it was stated that on Thurs-day, September 7 at 55 Stanleytown he stole $300,000, and a quantity of clothing and sneakers valued $200,000, a total of $500,000, property of Damion Southwell.

An unpresented Vanlewin was not required to plead to the charge. Bbail was refused and he was remanded to prison. He will return to court on November, 1 for report.
