Hard Rock apologises for `Blood Over the River’ menu item

Hard Rock’s menu item with the reference to the slave rebellion

The Hard Rock Café has apologised over a menu item titled “Blood Over the River.”

The description of this menu item angered patrons for making what was described as inappropriate references to slavery and the historic 1763 slave rebellion.

“Named after the 1763 rebellion in Guyana, indulge in the rich flavors of a succulent 10oz steak, perfectly grilled to your liking, cooked with a luscious blood-red wine reduction, priced at 10,700”, the description said on the international chain’s menu.
