A five-wicket haul from Veerasammy Permaul followed by a blistering knock from Kevin Sinclair spurred Berbice to a three-wicket win over the Select XI in the second round of the Guyana Cricket Board’s senior Inter-County limited overs competition yesterday.
The Select XI won the toss and opted to take first strike at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda, posting 188 for nine from their full complement of 50 overs. Berbice then reached 191 for seven in 39.5 overs to register their second win of the tournament.
The seasoned veteran, Permaul, led Berbice’s bowling attack with 5-40 while fellow left-arm spinner, Gudakesh Motie, off-spinner, Kevin Sinclair and seamer, Nial Smith each had one wicket.
