Transport Sports Club secured a six-wicket win over Police Sports Club in a high-scoring final of the Georgetown Cricket Association Atlantic Marine Supplies Inc., Suzuki Motorcycles second-division tournament on Saturday.
At the Demerara Cricket Club, Transport won the toss and inserted Police who posted an imposing 195 for seven in their allotted overs. The eventual champions then reached 196 for four with six balls to spare.
Transport’s chase was off to a flyer after Adrian Hinds’ 26-ball blitz. The former national youth player smashed six sixes and five fours on his way to a top score of 60.
