Permaul, Imlach to lead Harpy Eagles side for Super50 tournament

The Guyana Cricket Board senior selection panel yesterday named the Guyana Harpy Eagles squad for the upcoming CG Insurance Regional Super50 competition with experienced left-arm orthodox spinner Veerasammy `Gunna’ Permaul and batsman Tevin Imlach the captain and vice-captain respectively. With longstanding captain, Leon Johnson retiring, Permaul will lead the team’s quest for a Super50 title triumph.

Permaul is no stranger to the role, having led the team over a decade ago while vice captain Imlach, led Demerara to victory in the just concluded senior Inter-County championships.

The tournament is scheduled to commence on October 17 in Trinidad and Tobago and according to the GCB, the team will play two practice matches prior to departure. The 14-man squad features just three changes from last season with Johnson, Anthony Bramble and Clinton Pestano making way for Kevlon Anderson, Ronsford Beaton and Sherfane Rutherford.
