Veteran Guyanese powerlifters, Nadina Taharally and Roger Rogers both shattered FESUPO (South American Powerlifting Federation) records enroute to winning silver medals in their respective weight classes at the World Classic and Equipped Masters Powerlifting Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, yesterday.

Taharally, already the holder of numerous national, FESUPO and Pan American records, set a new bar in the Masters II Classic 76KG weight class. Her squat of 150kg in Mongolia is a new Pan American and FESUPO record while her bench press of 77.5KG also set a new Pan American record. Meanwhile her deadlift of 182.5KG set the new standard for Pan American and FESUPO records. A total of 410KG also set new records for Pan America and FESUPO. Notably, Taharally also holds the Master’s I Pan American squat, bench press deadlift and total records which she set back in 2021.
