Police in Region Eight are investigating the death of a miner, who was chopped about his arms, allegedly after making remarks about another miner’s mother.
Perry Budhram, of Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, died following the incident which occurred at Granny Landing, Omai Backdam, Siparuni, Region Eight.
According to a police press release, Budhram and two co-workers from Chunilall Babulall Mining Company: 30-year-old McDavid Barran and 23-year-old Navin Murray went to Granny Landing on Saturday around 12:00 hrs, where they purchased a case of beer and began to imbibe.
