Pompey loses split decision to Antigua and Barbuda’s Aska

Guyana’s Emmanuel Pompey, right, can’t hide his disappointment after losing a split decision to Antigua’s Tabukuo Aska yesterday in the 96 kg round of 16 bout at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

Guyana’s Emmanuel Pompey lost his debut bout at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile yesterday as the Guyana five member boxing suffered another L.

Competing in the round of 16 92 kg bout at the Olympic Training Centre, Pompey lost by a split decision to Antigua’s Tabukuo Aska with the judges scoring the bout,  29-28, 30-27, 28-29, 30-27 and 30-27 in favor of Aska. 

According to reports, the fight was close with Pompey showing flashes of brilliance.
