Extraordinary sitting of National Assembly on territorial integrity set for Monday

Government and Opposition Chief Whips, Gail Teixeira and Christopher Jones respectively, along with shadow foreign minister Amanza Walton-Desir have met and reached an agreement on the Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly in relation to the country’s territorial integrity and tensions with Venezuela.

In a statement, the two sides said: “We are pleased to announce that we have agreed to the convening of an Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly, scheduled for Monday, November 6th at 10 a.m. The primary objective of this Assembly is to pass a motion expressing the unwavering and unified support of the country’s parliamentary parties and the Guyanese people for all efforts to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
