Hunt on to recapture Guyanese murder suspect who escaped from Suriname hospital

Jason Isaacs, a 34 year-old Guyanese murder suspect who was shot in the leg by police during an operation to arrest him in Suriname on October 13th, escaped from the Paramaribo University Hospital (AZP) on Sunday night.

According to Suriname news website waterkant.com, Isaacs managed to cut open the plaster cast on his leg and escaped from the hospital. 

The news site said that Isaacs had shot and killed a man during an argument on the corner of Waaldijk and Eugene Gesselstraat on October 13, 2023.

The news site stated that Isaacs is also wanted in Guyana for murder committed on overseas-based Guyanese Hemraj Pardesi in 2021.  Pardesi, also known as ‘Prem’, a 67-year-old man was found lying face down in his yard, at Reliance Settlement, East Canje, Berbice, with blood oozing from his nose during the wee hours of the morning in 2021.
