Venezuelans busted with drugs on harbour bridge

Kevyn De Jesus and Marcelino Marcos along with the 11,000 grams of cannabis.

Two Venezuelans were arrested yesterday morning after they were found with 11,000 grams of cannabis during a roadblock at the Demerara Harbour Bridge (DHB).

Ranks during an intelligence-led operation set up a roadblock on the western end of the DHB where motor car PPP 1521 was intercepted. The two Venezuelan nationals: 22 year-old Kevyn De Jesus and 29 year-old Marcelino Marcos both of  Lot 66 David Street Kitty were occupants of the car.

A police corporal who was a part of the roadblock, told the driver of his suspicions and requested to carry out a search on the car and the two occupants.
