East Ruimveldt duo on six counts of robbery, remanded to prison

Two men who pleaded not guilty to six counts of robbery were yesterday remanded to prison and will return to Court on December 6, 2023 for statements.

Orwin Garraway, 22, of 592 East Ruimveldt and Emmanuel Blair, 20, also of Lot 595 East Ruimveldt appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court  to answer to the six counts of robbery.

The Court heard that on October 24 2023 while in Georgetown, they robbed a CMC Security officer of a shotgun worth $250,000, one Chinese national of one cellphone valued $50,000 and Linden Lin of $800,000 dollars cash. On November 2, 2023 it is alleged that the duo robbed another Chinese national of $800,000 in cash and items totaling a value of 1 million dollars; they are also accused of robbing Clive Baird of one cellphone valued at $75,000. Both pleaded not guilty to all six charges.
