Parika woman hospitalised after cutlass attack

A Parika woman is now a patient at the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) after four of her fingers were severed in a cutlass attack that was allegedly carried out by her reputed husband at around 6:30 am yesterday. It is reported that her husband is in custody.

Hospitalised is Cherriel Fredricks, a 48-year-old housewife of Parika Backdam, East Bank Essequibo. Investigations revealed that Fredricks and her common-law partner, Michael McClennon, a 43-year-old farmer of Parika Backdam (Conservancy) had a misunderstanding about three weeks ago that led to Fredricks leaving their Morasi, East Bank Essequibo home to stay with her sister who resides at Parika Backdam.
