Security guard charged with stealing company pistol, ammo

Twenty-five-year-old Horace Thomside appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday where he was charged with simple larceny.

It is alleged that on November 24, while in Georgetown, he stole one Taurus .38 pistol valued $125,000 and five live rounds of ammunition all belonging to Professional Guard Service, a security company.

The court heard that on the day in question at about 7:00 am, a driver employed with the security firm was tasked with delivering firearms at various locations to its security officers.
