Yesterday at the Commission’s Secretariat on Croal Street, the National Commission on Disability launched the National Week of Persons with Disabilities and Balloon Releasing event.
A release from the Ministry of Health said that the week of activities aims to raise awareness for persons living with disabilities and commemorate the National Day of Disability which was observed on December 3rd, under the theme, “United in action to rescue and achieve the sustainable development goals for, with, and by persons with disabilities.”
Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony, while commending the newly appointed commission for their work thus far, stated that the Ministry has embarked on a programme providing hearing aids and spectacles free of cost to those in need.
