Former national, WI cricketer Clyde Butts dies after Eccles accident

Former Guyana and West Indies cricketer Clyde Butts died after an accident at Eccles on the East Bank of Demerara yesterday afternoon.

Butts was 66.

Investigations revealed that at about 15:15 hours, Butts, the driver and owner of motor car PTT 66, and a lorry, GAC 7592, collided at the intersection of the Eccles Industrial Site Road and the First Access Road west of the roundabout. The impact pushed Butts’ car into the path of a van, GAE 8844.
