Candidate Master (CM) Taffin Khan (2005) emerged champion of the Senior National Chess Championship after defeating Loris Nathoo (1703) in a closely fought playoff encounter at the Ocean Spray Hotel in Kitty, Georgetown.
The first and third game produced stalemates, whilst Khan won the second encounter which proved to be vital as he captured the title. With the win, CM Khan claimed his fifth title
