Parbattie Amanda Persaud, a 25-year-old vendor was yesterday morning beaten to death, allegedly by her abusive husband, while she was heading to the Parika Market.
Guradean Lallaram, the 39-year-old suspect was arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
Enquiries disclosed that the now-deceased woman and the suspect shared a common law relationship for the past six years and they have a three-year-old daughter. During the relationship, the woman was allegedly constantly abused by the suspect but never reported the matter to the police.
