A fire of unknown origin ripped through a two-storey wooden and concrete house at Lot 481 Kiskadee Drive, South Ruimveldt Gardens, Georgetown, yesterday afternoon leaving a mother and her three children homeless.

There were no injuries reported. The mother noted that the contents of her home were destroyed in the fire.

Abigail Lynch, the occupant of the home and mother of three who was not home at the time of the fire, told Stabroek News that sometime yesterday afternoon, around 2:30 pm, she received a call from her neighbour, informing her of the fire at her home, prompting her to rush to the scene. Lynch said that she and her three children reside in the five-bedroom home.
