Owner of dogs in mauling death remains in police custody – Commander

The Corentyne man who is the owner of the three pit bulls that attacked and killed Latchminen Permaul at Hampshire Village, Corentyne during the wee hours of Tuesday remains in police custody, Com-mander of Region Six Shivpersaud Bacchus confirmed yesterday.

The incident happened at R&S Street at Hampshire, Corentyne.

A post-mortem examination yesterday by Dr. Brijmohan at the Skeldon Public Hospital Mortuary showed that the cause of death was shock and haemorrhage and multiple lacerations.

Permaul also known as ‘Blackboy’, 63, unemployed, of Lot 249 Hamp-shire, Corentyne, Berbice, while intoxicated, fell asleep on the corner of the road. At the location, the man was attacked by the three dogs.
