The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT) has announced the upgrading of its high-speed Fibre internet with no added cost.

GTT Commercial Director, George Scott, said yesterday at an event at the Marriott Hotel  that over eight years ago, GTT was the first to introduce Fibre high-speed internet to Guyana with a promise to deliver their service to 75% of homes by the end of 2025.

Scott said that the company embarked on a project to make Fibre accessible to more than 158,000 households in mid last year and presently, two in every three homes can now have access to the high-speed Fibre internet. More than 40,000 households are expected to benefit from the massive upgrade while some customers will receive a new WiFi device to facilitate the upgrade which aims at improving services for those who work remotely and improve the online learning experience.
