Reyon Jones, 26, of Lot 1 Mandela Avenue Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Rhondel Weaver at the Georgetown Magistrates Court on Monday last, charged with armed robbery. It is alleged that on November 24, 2023, on D’Urban Street, while armed with a gun, he robbed Kente Meyers of one Samsung cellular phone valued $85,000 and $490,000 cash. Jones pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecution objected to bail citing the likelihood of Jones reappearing in court if bail is granted as very low, as well as the nature and gravity of the offence.
