West Demerara powerhouse and undefeated outfit Slingerz FC thrashed two-time champion Fruta Conquerors by a 4-1 score-line when the KFC Elite League continued last evening at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre, Providence.
In what seemed to be a scoreless first half, Slingerz FC recorded two goals in as many minutes in the dying embers of the period. The Vergenoegen outfit broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, as Leo Lovell scored, cutting in from the left side before uncorking a curling right-footed effort from outside of the penalty box that settled into the right corner.
Darren Niles doubled their advantage in the 45th+2 minute, fending off several challenges while storming into the left side of the box before slotting the ball into the lower left corner beyond the advancing goalkeeper.
