Gold is Money, North East advance in Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’

Two-time defending champions Gold is Money, North East La Penitence, and Laing Avenue were among the teams to earn their place in the group stage when the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown edition commenced at the National Park Tarmac, Thomas Lands, on Friday evening.

The West Ruimveldt-based outfit, Gold is Money, squeaked past the Renegade All-Stars 2-1 on penalty kicks, following a scoreless regulation and extra intervals.

North East La Penitence dispatched the Ballers 2-1. The combination of Kelvin Moore and Akil Plass recorded conversions in the sixth and 22nd minutes, respectively. On target in the loss was Sam Barnes in the 26th minute.
