Safe with $7m stolen from Dalip Trading

Detectives are investigating a break and enter and larceny on Dalip Trading Enterprise on 11-14 Broad  Street, Charlestown where one metal safe containing about $7m and an undisclosed amount of cheques was carted off.

The incident occurred between 4 am and 5.30 am on Monday  and is believed to have been carried out by four males.

The police said in a statement that Mohaswardatt Dalip, the owner of Dalip Trading, which sells hardware supplies, related that he had a metal safe containing the items mentioned and secured in the cashier’s office, located on the bottom flat of the building. The office has a metal door secured by internal locks.
