Ahead of what promises to be one of the most exciting fight cards in the squared circle on Guyana’s shores in recent times, Elton Dharry versus Dexter Marques for the WBA Super Flyweight Gold Title will be held on April 20th.
This was confirmed yesterday at a press conference conducted at the Everest Cricket Club (ECC), Carifesta Avenue, which will be the venue for the encounter. At the press engagement, it was explained that the card, dubbed Fight Night Guyana, is a product of Elton Dharry Promotions and will be sanctioned by the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC). It will also be sponsored by the Guyana TV Network.
Peter Abdool, President of the GBBC, hailed a “new era” in Guyana’s boxing history, noting, “We haven’t had a title fight of this level in Guyana before.”
