Police in Linden yesterday said they arrested two men with some 9,979 grammes of suspected cannabis while a third was arrested for offering a bribe of $453,000 to the lawmen to release the suspects.
A release from the force said that at around 19:47 on Wednesday night, police ranks were on mobile patrol duty around Amelia’s Ward station district in Linden when they observed a white car (#PAC 9138) travelling from the Kara Kara area.
According to the release, the patrol attempted to get closer to the car, but it sped away and the driver turned into Block 42 and suddenly came to a halt. The driver and another occupant in the front passenger seat quickly exited the vehicle and took out two bulky black plastic bags from the back seat.
