Archibald, Holder among athletes headed to French Guiana for Olympic qualification

Some of the athletes that will be heading to French Guiana in hopes of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics

Eight athletes are scheduled to depart Guyana’s shores today in search of Olympic Games qualifying times and distances at an International Athletic Meet in French Guiana.

At the meet, which is named ‘The Games of Guyana’, a 4x100m team comprising of Emmanuel Archibald, Shemar Horatio, Akeem Stewart, Noelex Holder, Jaheel Cornette, and Kerion DeSouza will attempt to meet the qualifying standard for the upcoming Olympic Games slated for August later this year in Paris.

Additionally, Guyana’s lone javelin thrower, Leslain Baird, will also accompany the team in a bid to secure qualification in that event as well.
