Forty-nine-year-old Ying Gou Sun of Seven Mile, Linden was placed on $150,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with forgery.
It was alleged that on March 30, 2024 at the Air Services Limited base in Mahdia, he presented a forged document to immigration authorities. He was not required to plead to the charge.
It was revealed by the prosecution that on November 30, 2019 Sun came to Guyana from China, where he was granted a one month stay. However on presentation of his passport to the immigration officers on the day in question, when thoroughly examined it was revealed to have been forged. The prosecution stated that Sun had never applied for or was granted an extension of stay.
