Brazilian wanted for crimes in Brazil refused bail

AThirty-three-year old, Junior DaSilva, a Brazilian national, of Lot 23 Hadfield Street, Georgetown, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court concerning the matter of his extradition to Brazil.

His first court appearance was on April 10, where he was remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman.

It was revealed that DaSilva is wanted in Brazil for aggravated theft which is equivalent to the offence of armed robbery here in Guyana.
