The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has disclosed that as part of its efforts to modernise the institution it will be changing its approach to promotions.
As such it is currently offering core courses as an alternative to traditional promotional exams, aiming to enhance the skills and knowledge base of its members, a GPF release stated on Tuesday.
It explained that among the newly introduced courses is the Final Training for Constables, aimed to provide comprehensive training and equip constables with enhanced capabilities for more effective policing. Successful completion of this course renders constables eligible for promotion to the rank of Lance Corporal.
