`Impressive strides’ being made on $1.7b NA prison complex – ministry

“Impressive strides” are being made on the $1.7b New Amsterdam Prison complex, according to a release yesterday from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The complex  is undergoing significant transformation and aims to revolutionize the prison system and enhance security measures while focusing on prisoner rehabilitation and reintegration, the release said.

Under the guidance of Andre Ally, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, a comprehensive inspection was conducted on Friday to evaluate the progress of various construction lots vital for improving the prison’s facilities.
