Hot peppers

Twenty-five shade houses are being set up at the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI) to cultivate two varieties of hot peppers, bull nose and tiger teeth, to supply an already secured market in St Lucia. A post on President Irfaan Ali’s Facebook page said that each cycle of the 25 shade houses is expected to have around 11,250 plants, yielding approximately 75,000 pounds of pepper per cycle.
