Cyclist dies at No. 66 Village

The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 11 am yesterday at No. 66 Village Public Road, Corentyne, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Chandradat Motee, 53 years, of No. 66 Village.

Investigations revealed that the driver of motor car PHH 3570 was proceeding along the roadway, when it is alleged that the pedal cyclist rode out from an access road and was struck down, the police say.

Motee was pronounced dead on arrival at the Skeldon Hospital.

The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
