Cops probing killings at Kaneville, Baramita

The police say that at about 0630h today, the body of Jairam Teekaram, 40 years, was found in the yard of his home at Kaneville, EBD, with several suspected chop wounds. The body is at the Lyken Funeral Parlour awaiting a Post Mortem Examination. A suspect has been arrested and he is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The police are also investigating the murder of Junior Brandt, 32 years, of Baramita, NWD, which occurred at about 0730h. today at Baramita. The police say that investigations have revealed that Brandt was allegedly involved in an argument with his reputed wife, during which he was fatally stabbed. The suspect has not been arrested as yet.
