At about 2000h last night, police say that Shazam Bacchus, 23 years, of No. 78 Village, Corentyne, was awaiting transportation on the No. 72 Village Public Road, Corentyne, when two men approached him in a motor car. One of them discharged a round from a firearm that hit him to his chest and they escaped.
Bacchus has been admitted to Hospital for medical treatment as the investigations continue.
