Around 8.15 last night goldsmith Gopaul, 51 years of Richmond, Essequibo Coast, and his wife were attacked and robbed by four men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Police said that Gopaul and his wife were at home with the door open when the men entered and held them up. The men then took away a quantity of gold jewellery and $50,000 and escaped after tying up the victims.
The police said that acting quickly on the report made and information received they arrested three men. Some of the stolen jewellery was recovered on one of them.
