The police say they are probing an armed robbery that occurred at about 1255h today at One Mile, Wismar, during which salesman Richard Alves, 55 years, was attacked and robbed by five men armed with handguns.
Police said that investigations revealed that Alves, who is attached to Edward Beharry Co. Ltd; along with porter Michael Pooran, 19 years, were distributing cigarettes to a shop when they were held up by the men who took away an undisclosed sum of cash and a cheque in the sum of $270,000 and escaped.
