Cane harvester, 17, chopped to death at Jackson Creek

The police say they are investigating the murder of Stephon Bacchus, 17 years, a cane harvester of Kortberaadt, East Bank Berbice, that occurred at about 1430h. yesterday at Jackson Creek, Corentyne, Berbice.

Investigations revealed that Bacchus and a co-worker had a misunderstanding following which he was chopped to his neck with a cutlass.  Bacchus was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced DOA, police said.

The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
