US gas company drills new T&T well

(Trinidad Express) United States-based natural gas company Range Resources Ltd has successfully drilled a new development well on its Morne Diablo concession in Trinidad and Tobago.

The QUN 118ST well logged more than 200 feet of gross oil pay at Morne Diablo, further extending the existing field area to the north and east, the company said in a statement to international media. The well is being completed for initial production from natural pressure, which is expected to commence within a week.

Range Resources operates three production areas onshore Trinidad, where it continues to develop existing reserves, extend producing trends and exploit marginal producing properties.

Exploratory drilling for deeper targets is programmed for 2012, following reprocessing and interpretation of the company’s 3D seismic database, which is scheduled to be completed next month, stated the company.

Range Resources is among the leading independent natural gas companies operating in the US through subsidiaries in the Southwestern and Appalachian regions of the country, its website states.
