Pregnant girl among four killed in Port of Spain

(Trinidad Express) The city of Port of Spain was the scene of four murders within eleven hours today, among the dead -16 year old Rashida Gomez who was shot and killed at an apartment at lower Duncan Street, Port of Spain.

Three of those killed were teenagers.

Gomez was at Duncan Street, visiting a man who was also shot but survived. The man is said to be a member of a gang. The shooting happened at Building 27, at around 2p.m Wednesday.

Gomez died at the Port of Spain General Hospital from multiple gunshot wounds.

She was the cousin of 17-year-old Nyam Antoine who was shot and killed outside at apartment at upper Duncan Street, Port of Spain earlier today.

Antoine was reported dragged out of his mother’s apartment at around 5 p.m. He was made to kneel and shot multiple times.
While investigating the killing of Gomez, police had to respond to a killing at Trotman Street at 4p.m, where Sean Lewis Junior, 17 of Trou Macaque, Laventille, was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
At 4.15 p.m, an undentified man was shot and killed at nearby Quarry Street, Laventille.

The killings are the latest in a series of gang related murders sweeping across the city.
