Man charged over Moblissa double murder

Moblissa resident Orin Rodrigues was this morning charged with the double murder that occurred in the Linden/Soesdyke Highway community during the wee hours of Saturday.

Rodrigues who told the court that he was 20 years old was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. It was initially reported that he was 17 years old.

He is accused of chopping Molly James, 34, and her teenaged son Aaron James. The mother of seven died instantly while the teen died while awaiting transportation to take him for medical attention.

Rodrigues will make his second court appearance at the Christiansburg Magistrate’s Court on January 8, 2014.
