The body of the man believed to have murdered policewoman Kenesha Sheriff Fraser has been found hanging from a tree at Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice and her relatives are baffled.

The body of Clayton Anthony was found hours after Fraser’s body was discovered in her bedroom with chop wounds about her body.

According to neighbours, they heard Fraser screaming and when they investigated they found Fraser’s body and Anthony was seen running out of the house and into the backdam.

The woman’s 18-year-old son Rinson Rose told Stabroek News that his mother and Anthony grew up as brother and sister and as such he cannot explain why he would kill her since he lives in the lower flat of their home. The young man said he was at work when he got the news of his mother’s death.

Fraser was married with three children and was a police corporal stationed at the Central New Amsterdam Station.

The police today issued the following press release:

The Guyana Police Force mourns the death of a member who was allegedly murdered this morning about 09:00hrs at her lot 370 #30 Village, West Coast Berbice residence.

Initial Investigations have revealed an alleged murder/suicide committed on Woman Sergeant 19467 Kenisha Sheriff-Fraser, 39 of the said address who was found in a bedroom in the upper flat of her two-storeyed home with multiple chop wounds about her body. A blood-stained cutlass suspected to be the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene.

Acting on information received the body of Clayton Anthony aka Woody, 42, a pork knocker who occupies the bottom flat of the said house was found hanging from a tree at the #30 Village Seashore, WCB.

The bodies are at the Anthony’s Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
