Duncan St internet cafe owner shot, robbed

At about 1020h. today, the police say that two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered an Internet Café and Western Union Outlet at Duncan Street, Georgetown, and held up the proprietor Gordon Nestor, 52 years, and staff member Fernandes Ally, 18 years, of East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, and took away over $400,000.00 and escaped in a waiting motor car.

Biker dies after LBI accident

At about 0200h. today, the police say that Beau Allison, 27 years, of Louisa Row, Georgetown, was riding a motor cycle along the LBI Public Road, ECD, when he is reported to have collided with a motor car which he was attempting to overtake.

North Ruimveldt man shot, $2m grabbed

At about 1245h. today, the police say that Reginald Manbodh, 67 years, had just returned home in his motor vehicle at North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, when he was attacked and held at gunpoint by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, and who had driven up on a motor cycle.

Gunman at large after killing 9 at black South Carolina church

CHARLESTON, S.C., (Reuters) – A white gunman was still at large after killing nine people during a prayer service at an historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina, the city’s police chief said on Thursday, describing the attack as a hate crime.
