Soldier alleged to have shot partner dead

A senior member of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) this morning is alleged to have shot and killed his partner during a heated argument at Alexander street, Georgetown.

Guyana files Venezuela border controversy case with ICJ

In a historic step, Guyana today filed its application to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) requesting that it confirm the legal validity and binding effect of the 1899 Arbitral Award on the boundary between Guyana and Venezuela.
