Bagotville boy found dead in canal

The body of a 14-year-old boy was fished out of a canal at Bagotville, West Bank Demerara on Wednesday after he had apparently gone for a swim the day before and never returned.

Dead is Jeffrey McPherson of David Rose Street, Bagotville. Reports reaching Stabroek News indicated that the boy had skipped school last Tuesday, gone for a swim and had apparently drowned.

His body was discovered on Wednesday afternoon after it surfaced in the canal. The mother of the dead boy refused to speak about the incident yesterday.
