65 found with dirty yards in Lacytown

So far 65 persons in Lacytown have been served notices for having dirty yards and no refuse receptacles in the Mayor and City Council’s (M&CC) anti-litter campaign.

According to an M&CC press release, 22 alleged defaulters will be prosecuted for breaches found on Thursday, including a number of business enterprises. It is expected that the campaign will also move to other communities including Bourda, Stabroek, North East La Penitence and North Ruimveldt. Meanwhile, the M&CC is calling on all community development groups to ensure the integrity of their immediate surroundings and communities. And schools, religious organizations, youth clubs and other groups are being urged to talk to their members about the importance of a clean and healthy environment as a priority, the release added.
