Rose Hall sports club honours members with $1.5M in prizes

The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sport Club (RHTYSC) recently distributed more than $1M worth of prizes at its 17th annual awards ceremony hosted on Sunday.

In a press release, the club said 30 members were honoured for their outstanding performances during the past year with $1.5M worth of prizes. Club Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Hilbert Foster said the club is indebted to over 80 individuals and companies for their financial contribution and gifts for the awardees. He also praised several overseas-based former residents of the town including Anil Ramtez Realty Inc of Richmond Hill, New York, Martin Cort, Rawle Fingal, Kal Khan and Dan Vander Meer. Foster also lauded the club’s nine official sponsors and the 65 other donors who contributed to the success of the event. He said the ceremony was “the best ever” and described it as a “Gala Event”.

Foster said each donor can rest assured that their contributions are appreciated and has been used for its intended purpose. He said the RHTYSC pledges to uphold its traditions and to work harder to offer sports, education and culture as an alternative to life on the street.
