The National Federation of and for Disabled People is hosting a symposium to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities.

In a press release the group said the meeting will be held under the theme ‘Promoting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.’

Its objectives are to inform persons with disabilities on their rights as laid out in the United Nations Convention and to involve key elements in local communities in promoting the rights of affected persons.

Presentations will be made on topics including ‘The Right to Independent Living’ and ‘Women and Disability. The meeting will be held in the Garden Room at Lot 26, Jamoon Drive, Meadowbrook Gardens. It is slated for April 24 at 9 am.
